About this site

What Is the DPSCD Capital Projects Portal?

A live, public window into every capital construction project delivered through the Detroit Public Schools Community District’s capital programs. Built and maintained by the DPSCD Capital Programs office.

What You’re Looking At

The portal tracks all 12 currently active capital projects across the district — new builds, renovations, athletics, and decommissions. For each project we publish budget, spend, schedule, contractor, architect, funding source, and current phase.

How Often It Updates

Capital data is refreshed and re-published weekly by the Capital Programs office. Each refresh is logged, validated by an automated rule set, and reviewed by a real person before publish. The most recent published refresh ran 5 hours ago (August 3, 2026), run by Chatoris Jones.

How to Know It’s Real

Every project page includes a row hash — a SHA-256 fingerprint of the underlying data. If the data ever changes, the fingerprint changes. The portal also shows the snapshot ID, the publish timestamp, and the operator’s name, so you can trace any number back to a specific published version of the dataset. Snapshot S-2026-08-03 is the version you’re reading.

Where the Data Comes From

Each refresh imports a vetted source spreadsheet from the Capital Programs office (current source file: DPSCD_Capital_Projects_202608_v1.xlsx). The file is validated against a published rule set, exceptions are logged on the data quality page, and only after that review does the snapshot become public.
